What Goes Into Our Meals (And What Doesn’t)

July 1, 2026
Finding prepared meals made with wholesome ingredients is harder than it should be. Many prepared foods rely on shortcuts: pre-made sauces, seasoning blends, stabilizers, and ingredients designed more for shelf life than for nourishment. That’s not how we cook. At Kindred Cuisine, everything starts with nutrient-dense, whole ingredients you recognize: extra virgin olive oil, fresh herbs, garlic, ginger, onions, vegetables, and thoughtfully sourced proteins. These ingredients aren’t just about flavor: they support digestion, heart health, and sustained energy in ways processed ingredients simply can’t. We also build each week’s menu around plant diversity – different vegetables, colors, and textures, because a varied diet supports a healthier gut and overall wellness. It also brings more flavor, interest, and vibrance to every meal! Instead of relying on pre-made bases or artificial flavor enhancers, we build flavor from the ground up using herbs, aromatics, and citrus. Even our carbohydrates come from whole foods like sweet potatoes, gold potatoes, brown rice, and vegetables rather than processed starches. And we believe ingredients should never be hidden. What goes into each dish should be recognizable and transparent. Simply put, the food we make starts the same way you would cook at home, with real ingredients and intention.
